New Fall Shows

Now that the first show (The Playboy Club) has been cancelled, I thought it might be time to talk about some of the new shows. If the critics are right, the next shows to be canceled are Charlie's Angels and Free Agents. I've given many of the new shows a watch, and some I've given up on already. After watching 2 episodes, New Girl and Whitney just aren't as funny as I thought they would be. I might watch again in the future, but for now, they're off the regular DVR schedule. 2 Broke Girls, How to Be a Gentleman, and Unforgettable are just plain off my schedule. Sorry, CBS.

The shows I like and will occasionally watch are A Gifted Man, Pan Am, Prime Suspect, and Up All Night. Pan Am might move in to the regular rotation, but it's not a high priority.Unfortunately, American Horror Story falls into this category after one episode. I really like Pan Am and Up All Night, but they conflict with other shows, so I'll have to watch on hulu or On Demand. As for A Gifted Man and Prime Suspect, I'm a little burnt out on medical dramas and cop shows, so I'm limiting them.

The shows I will keep up with and watch every week are Suburgatory, Person of Interest, Ringer, Revenge, Terra Nova. Suburgatory and Revenge really surprised me. Suburgatory is funny, quirky, and cute. The pilot started with a Lily Allen song (F*k You), snarky comments, and I was hooked. Person of Interest is a cop drama starring Michael Emerson, recently of LOST and Jim Caviezel, who I first noticed in the movie Angel Eyes with Jennifer Lopez. The mystery of Ringer is holding my interest for now. The same goes for Revenge, but I have to watch it on hulu because there's so much other good stuff on at the same time (Top Chef: Just Desserts, Luther, South Park) that I have to adjust the recording schedules. I've always been a sci-fi fan, so I'm in for Terra Nova and I hope Fox  doesn't cancel it too soon, as they've been known to do with several series. It would have been ok if they had renewed The Chicago Code instead. That was another great show that went the way of Firefly and WonderFalls.

If you're watching any new shows, let me know, I'll give them a try. Coming soon, returning shows.
