Some sort of awards show happened this weekend, and Geek Girl Soup is here to recap it for you! We discuss… wait for it… the awards! And, yes, we share a few thoughts on a few other of the evening’s happenings.

This week at Geek Girl Soup, the play’s the thing. We’re discussing movies that are based on musicals or plays: “West Side Story,” “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” and “The Humans.”

This week at Geek Girl Soup, we’re deep into our first deadly sin: Greed. Now, we know that not all of Wall Street is full of dirty rotten scoundrels. But it certainly is a theme in the film world. So, we’re discussing “Wall Street,” “Boiler Room,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Gaming Wall Street.”

It was a wonderful night for the Film Independent Spirit Awards, and the Geek Girls were there for it—virtually, at least. As voting members of Film Independent, we were excited to see if our choices won.

This week on Geek Girl Soup, it was the first recording day of the month, so that means “One and Done.” This time we’re discussing “Wonderfalls,” the awesomely sweet, and also dark, Bryan Fuller comedy about a slacker Millennial who works in a souvenir shop at Niagara Falls.
